Our goal is to make the remodeling and building process clear and stress-free. Being a full-service design + build company in Portland, means we handle everything from the first consultation to the final walkthrough of your new space.
Below are the steps we use our design build process in Portland, so you know exactly what to expect when working with us. If you’re planning a home remodel, addition, or custom new build, we want to help you bring your vision to life.
1. Contact us
It all starts here. Use the contact form on this page to let us know as much as possible about what you are looking for. After we have your contact info we can set up a phone call to discuss your project, timeline, and budget.
2. Home Consultation
Complimentary meeting at your home or property. We'll discuss the overall scope of your project, your vision, needs, and design style you are looking for. We'll also draw up a design agreement for you to consider. This will have the scope of work and the design fees for the project.
3. Design Presentation
We'll set up a meeting to present preliminary design concepts and further hone in your vision for your project.
4. Architectural Drawings
We will develop a full set of detailed Architectural plans from the schematic design that is ready to be submitted to the city for permit. We'll also discuss finish materials and ballpark construction costs during this time.
5. Permit Process
During this phase we will work with local municipalities for the complete life cycle of the permit process. Whatever city, or jurisdiction your project is in, we will make sure our approach to the permit process is efficient and without compromise. We are licenced in both Oregon and Washington state.
6. Construction Agreement
With the permit and set of plans in hand, we are now ready to build. Since we are a design + build company here in Portlandwe can offer our construction services. Here we will present a contract for our construction services. If you have another builder you'd like to use at this time, thats fine too. At the very least, we will be here for any questions that come up during construction.
7. Construction
We're ready to start your build. Here we'll discuss the entire scope of work and walk through how the project is going to be built. We will also have on-site meetings to confirm certain selections and provide weekly updates so you are in the loop with what is happening on your project.
